Basjoo Banana For a tropical look anywhere, this one wins the prize for cold-hardiest of all bananas. It has been said that it can grow in all 50 states but we've never tried it in Alaska (or anywhere else for that matter.) One thing for sure is it can take the cold. Down to -3°F and with protective mulch it can withstand temperatures down to -20°F. Also does well indoors.
