Malpigia punicifolia. This dwarf variety is an outstanding bonsai candidate as it flowers freely throughout the year and has beautiful fire engine red colored fruit. Grows to only 2-3 feet and can withstand colder temperatures than the standard variety (to 22F once established.)
Myrciaria cauliflora Grape sized fruit are prolifically borne on the trunk. Zones 9b-11 Slow growing. 10- 30' if left unpruned and does not freeze. Outstanding bonsai specimen in with small leaves and multi branching habit.

This pitcher plant has a unique ruffled hood that covers most of the pitcher opening. Very dramatic with colorful red veins and pink colors dominating the appearance of the hood.
