BAMBOOS & GRASSES Bamboos are true grasses. 1500 species. There are two types: clumping or running. Clumpers are usually slower growing. Special care must be taken with runners to prevent aggressive growth.
Pogonatherum paniceum.Variegatedirresistible dwarf bamboo-like grass from Japan that grows no higher than about 12" and spreads to about 20". Looks like a miniature or bonsai-sized bamboo. Very soft foliage.
